About

AlbaniaTravel is an independent website about travelling in Albania. It is not run by a tourism board, a hotel group or a tour company. It is written by people who travel Albania regularly, by car and by bus, and who got tired of answering the same questions one at a time.

What we do

We answer the practical questions people ask before and during a trip: where to stay, how to get from A to B, what things cost, whether a place is worth it. We try to give the short answer first and the detail after, because that is how we use travel sites ourselves.

How the guides are researched

Every guide is based on first-hand trips, checked against current prices and timetables, and updated when things change. Albania changes fast: bus routes move, roads get paved, prices on the coast jump. Each article shows when it was last updated, and we would rather publish fewer guides and keep them accurate than churn out hundreds we cannot maintain.

Many topics come directly from questions asked in the Albania travel community on Reddit, which is where a lot of us hang out. If a question keeps coming up, it becomes a guide.

How we make money
